Read the following and answer the questions
Read the passage and answer the questions. Honey bees are vital to agriculture. As they collect nectar, they carry pollen from flower to flower, which allows many crops to produce fruit and seeds. It is estimated that about one-third of the food we eat depends on pollinators such as bees. In recent decades, however, bee populations in many regions have declined. Scientists point to several causes: the loss of wildflower habitats, the use of certain pesticides, diseases and parasites, and changing weather patterns. To help bees, farmers are being encouraged to plant strips of wildflowers, reduce harmful sprays and keep hedgerows. Even city residents can help by growing flowering plants on balconies and in gardens.
